Slide bearings consist of two steel plates that provide movement via the use of polished stainless steel and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). The stainless steel is welded to one side of the bearing while the PTFE is recessed and bonded to the other side. These mating surfaces generally have less than 3% sliding coefficient of friction.
